Sikkim Summer Carnival

This five day long Sikkim Summer carnival that is held in Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, is breathtakingly beautiful. It is that time of the season in Sikkim, when the mountains are still snowcapped, the frothy rivers rushes down the mountains, the flowers are blooming all over. It is an ideal time to celebrate the annual Sikkim Summer Carnival. Flower shows, cultural programmes, exhibitions and interesting competitions are held during this amazing event. The venue for the festival is the White Hall in Gangtok. The entire complex comes alive with traditional Sikkimese dances, exhibition of the local art and culture and films on tourism. The popular flowers of Sikkim - orchids, rhododendrons and primulas are on show.

A local food festival, white water rafting and an offbeat " Yak Safari " are also part of the Sikkim Summer Carnival. You can also get to see some breathtaking waterfalls in and around Sikkim.
